To the left of the main stairwell is the Reception desk. Here our staff look forward to welcoming you personally to the Hotel. On the right as you enter the hotel is Ash Restaurant and Bar Lounge, where we look forward to serving you a drink when you arrive.

And nothing epitomizes the hotel’s majestic style and great historic past, than the Grand Staircase which faces you the minute you enter our grand reception area.

The majestic staircase, which inspired the designers of the Titanic (the inspiration for the stairwell in the ballroom on the Titanic), forms the whole focal point of the building – and provdies a most impressive lead up to the hotel’s to the 70 refurbished bedrooms.

As one of the famous Travel Writers had said "...Royal Highland of Inverness definitely needs a chapter rather than a mention while writing about the Highlands.....". The grand lobby and staircase indeed deserves a whole chapter on its own and is almost one of Inverness’s historic landmarks.

The Grand Lobby also contains many important works of art, including 'The Four Philosophers'.
